From the street to a safe home

This is a small, personal rescue. Every cat is handled one by one, from the moment they are picked up to the day they walk into their new home.

How a cat gets home

1. 01

   Rescue from the street

   Sick, injured and abandoned cats are found across Larnaca and the villages around it — often as tiny kittens, far too young to be without a mother. They are taken in the same day. The first hours decide more than anything that follows: a kitten that has gone a night without food or warmth may not survive a second one. They are fed, kept warm, and somewhere safe, while what they need is worked out.

   Full veterinary care

   Every cat sees a vet, not only the ones that look unwell. A health check, vaccinations, deworming, and treatment for the fleas and parasites that almost every street cat carries. Whatever else is found is treated too — eye infections, wounds, the chest infections that run through kittens living outside. This is where most of the money goes, and it is the part nobody sees.

   Neutering and spaying

   Adults are sterilised before they are released or rehomed: €38 for a female, €28 for a male. It is the only humane way to break the cycle. An unspayed female can have two or three litters a year, and her daughters will do the same — so this is the one thing that compounds in the right direction. Every cat neutered is a litter that is never born hungry.

4. 04

   Adoption, and the flight

   Kittens ready for a home are matched with adopters, and the match matters more than the speed. When the adopter lives abroad, the kitten is flown over personally, with all travel documents in order — accompanied, not sent alone as cargo. It is why a cat found in a Larnaca side street can end up asleep on a sofa in another country.
